RIBBON CUTTING BY CALEDON MAYOR & COUNCILLORS
Caledon Mayor Allan Thompson and Councillors Jennifer Innis, Annette Groves and Nick deBoer were at Legacy Pines September 15 to recognize Legacy Pines Golf Club being under new ownership. Many of the new resident-owners were on hand to celebrate the preservation of the golf club, the surrounding green space and the vibrancy that it has brought to the Caledon community. LADIES LEAGUE SEASON FINALE
It was a full house on September 14th as 40 participants from the Ladies League wrapped up a very fun and successful golf league season. Captains, Cheryl Atkinson, Judy Burns and Sue Rowan, created an amazing season finale. The ladies enjoyed a catered meal with libations and home-made desserts in a beautifully decorated room. Appreciation was shown for the Captains who are retiring after two years serving the ladies league. Each received a charcuterie board, hand-crafted by Bruce Reardon.
RYDER CUP
The annual Legacy Pines Ryder Cup was back for 2022 with two mixed teams of 16 golfers each. Team Captains Ted Trevelyan (America) and Dave Whiffen (Europe) battled it out during four days of competition August 29 to September 1st. It was a tightly fought match all week, with Team Europe pulling away on the final day Singles matches to take home the the cup with a 21-1/2 to 18-1/2 point victory. As always, there was plenty of team spirit and camaraderie and the event culminated with a celebratory dinner at the clubhouse.
